Limited grid capacity endangers strong Dutch Solar growth

The map above shows that particularly in the northern provinces of the Netherlands grid operators are reaching their limits. This has already caused projects totalling 750 MWp to be put on hold: enough to provide power for nearly 200,000 households.

The figure above shows the realization rate per province based on the total solar PV capacity granted by the SDE(+) scheme. How will the lack of grid supply affect the realization rate in these northern provinces? Dutch New Energy Research continuously monitors the realization of SDE(+) projects and uses this as an input for their 5-year forecast for solar PV capacity in the Dutch Solar Quarterly.
